1/2022 Colours of Landscape is a mosaic of 16 small canvasses, framed together as one. Like almost all my works, it started off as something different - in this case, a sequence of canvasses depicting a fight in progress.  

 

Yet, as I began painting, I realised that each small canvas came to life with only constrained brushstrokes and a limited palette.  Further, the canvasses began reminding me of landscapes that I loved - the beach, the sea, the desert, the rainforest.  I abandoned my fighting sequence and began to paint tiny abstracted landscapes.

This work reflects the colours of the Australian landscape, from the desert, to the sea, to the rainforest.  Each small canvas is stripped back to essentials but reflects its own ecosystem.  Together, they make a harmonious and vibrant mosaic of colour.  

 

This is a work that I will only sell framed - as the small canvasses need to be framed as one.  Please note that in the photos displayed, the small canvasses have not been perfectly centered within the frame, as no final frame has been chosen. This will occur upont the framing for the purchaser. I can of course work with the purchaser to select a suitable frame.
