1/2021 Bright Sun was painted furiously "alla prima", with my headphones on and music pumping.  It is an abstracted reworking of a photograph that I took of a beautiful young couple on holiday, both with their phones out, taking photos for their socials simultaneously. 'Bright Sun' has rich vibrant colour, contrasted with thick swathes of white. For me, it is redolent of vacations, summer and the bright Australian sun.
